We Never Lose Sight of Young, Beginning and Small Farmers |

The success of the Young, Beginning, and Small Farmer Segment of agriculture continues to be a very important part of our Farm Credit mission. This is especially important to the future of agriculture as well as Farm Credit, as these farmers/ranchers will be not only today but tomorrow's customers. With the average age of farmers and ranchers increasing every year, we must continue to work with this segment of customers as they will be the next generation. The Farm Credit Administration defines Young, Beginning and Small farmers as follows: Young borrower: A farmer, rancher, or producer or harvester of aquatic products who is age 35 or younger as of the loan transaction date. Beginning borrower: A farmer, rancher, or producer or harvester of aquatic products who has 10 years or less farming or ranching experience as of the loan transaction date. Small borrower: A farmer, rancher, or producer or harvester of aquatic products who normally generates less that $250,000 in annual gross sales of agricultural or aquatic products. High Plains Farm Credit will work with the Young, Beginning, and Small Farmers and Ranchers to design a loan program that fits their specific needs. Call us today! |
